Like rice, but smarter

Inspired by a 60s sci-fi flick about a submarine crew shrunk to fit into a scientist’s body to repair his brain, NTU scientists have made rice-sized robots to help heal patients. These acrobatic miniature robots can carry four different drugs and release them in programmable orders and doses exactly where they are needed in the body. The team is now looking to shrink the robots even further so they can be used to provide revolutionary treatments for conditions such as brain tumours, bladder cancer and colorectal cancer.
